Grant agreement
"Construction of new RES for self-consumption in combination with local energy storage facilities in enterprises"

On 10.11.2023 DEMAX AD signed a grant agreement under procedure BG-RRP-3.006 "Construction of new RES for own consumption in combination with local energy storage facilities in enterprises", financed under the National Recovery and Sustainability Plan through the Recovery and Sustainability Mechanism.
The cost of the project is BGN 512 820, of which BGN 179 487 is EU funding through the MoE.
The deadline for completion of the project activities is 10.05.2025.
Crisis moments of high energy prices without alternative, led to the inability to plan optimally the activity and lack of flexibility in pricing. Production capacity is continuously expanding, while at the same time we are looking for ways to reduce the impact in the cost of energy consumption to produce a unit of product. The large fluctuations in energy prices in recent years have adversely affected planning and had a significant impact on decisions on new investments. For this reason, as part of the development strategy, the objective of achieving maximum energy independence was added.
This can be achieved by obtaining energy from renewable sources, one of which is the photovoltaic plant.
To ensure maximum effect, the system also needs to have the option of storing the energy produced and not used at the time, which will be provided by a battery complex. The project will install a 194.4 kW photovoltaic plant and a 200 kW storage system (battery), which will provide an average of about 50% of the electricity we need.
As a result of the project, we will be able to achieve partial energy independence, through which we will reduce our energy consumption from the grid, which will have a positive impact on our competitiveness and flexibility.
The investment has no negative impact on the environment and complies with the principles of non-detriment.
